This is the BEST live Hendrix available
I have all of the live Hendrix CDs and this is by far the best, both in having the best sound quality and the best performance by Hendrix.

Unlike the other CDs, Hendrix isn`t audibly worn out, or bored with his material; he isn`t tentative like in some recordings earlier in his career; and he isn`t playing with an untried band.

While some of the other live CDs are better than others (Isle of Wight is probably the next best), none of them really comes close to this one.
Hendrix 1970-Berkley
Many "critics" and fellow musicians alike have/had counted Jimi out by 1970, however, you can hear the intensity in which he plays with on tracks like Johnnie B. Goode and Hey Joe, the later of which may be the best, most tonal version available. You can hear police radios bleeding into the feed-back. If you a "true" fan of Jimi, you will already have this music in one form or fashion, if your are curious, it is well worth owning it. It`s truly awesome how 37 years after Jimi`s untimely death, his hold on generations of fans continues to expand. It is extremely likely that 100 years from now, they will still be listening to Jimi! Buy it, you will NOT regret it!
Jimi Hendrix: Live At Berkeley
One rarely gets to see Jimi`s hands on the guitar due to the amateurish camera work. Meantime the cameras zoom too close into his face or neck or the spotlights or whatever. Then they show footage of riots when I`d rather see Hendrix. I mean that`s why people buy Hendrix DVD`s isn`t it. Then I`m wondering why half the solo in `Hear My Train a Comin` is edited out & why `Hey Baby` on the film is cut short !
The individuals that filmed this, flung it together & partially butchered it weren`t worthy of being involved with this genius.
I rate it as 10 out of 10 for the playing & Jimi`s incredible tone which was spot on, & I give it 0 out of 10 for the production.
Average therefore is just 3 stars I`m sad to say.
